Hometown Voices: Camille-Yvette Welsch and Tim Loperfido

In its first event of 2024, Hometown Voices, a monthly reading series spotlighting local writers, will feature two of our very own English faculty: Camille-Yvette Welsch and Tim Loperfido. The reading will be held Sunday, January 7, at 3pm at Tempest Studios downtown (140 Kelly Alley).

Camille-Yvette Welsch is a Teaching Professor of English at the Pennsylvania State University. Long a part of Pennsylvania public schools, she attended West Chester University and The Pennsylvania State University for her BA and MFA respectively. She is a member of Free Mom Hugs and an active member of the local poetry community. Twice-nominated for the Pushcart Prize, she is the author of FULL and The Four Ugliest Children in Christendom and her work has appeared in Mid-American Review, Cream City Review, Indiana Review, Radar, Barrow Street, Split Lip, Menacing Hedge, Literary Mama, The Writer’s Chronicle, The Women’s Review of Books, and more. Tim Loperfido is a short story writer. As a first-generation college student, Tim studied English at San Diego State University, and later in graduate school, fiction writing at New Mexico State University. He now resides in Pennsylvania (not far from his birthplace in New Jersey) and teaches writing for Penn State University. His stories can be found in Grand Journal and forthcoming in Puerto del Sol. A debut collection called Like There’s Ever a Choice is on the horizon and in the hands of several potential publishers.
